Sweater Shaver

Sweater shavers are used to clean the fabric pills off your sweaters and other wool like garments. Pills are little piles of fabric that comes from running one piece a fabric against another. If you use the shaver correctly it will glide easily removing the pills off your clothing and making them look new again. It also can remove fuzz and other debris from the clothing.

What kind of fabric can you use your Sweater Shaver on? You can use it on cashmere sweaters. It is also ideal to be used on any wool items. Wool coats or jackets, wool gloves, wool scarves or wool pants. You can also use it on fleece items. The only kind of fabric, which the shaver is not recommended for, is cotton.

If you use a sweater shaver on a piece of clothing made out of cotton, there is a chance it will tear the fabric. This is because of the way which cotton is tightly bound together. So if you try and pull something off cotton material with a shaver it tends to unravel instead of clipping the fabric pill off. However this really should not be much of a problem because cotton does not seem to collect pills like other fabrics.

Even though the sweater shavers are safe to be used on most fabrics, be sure you know how to use one before you attempt it on a loved piece of clothing. Find a piece of clothing you do not really want and practice.
